Printed in 1802 the first accurate aid to navigation, The New American Practical Navigator.  
It was so effective that the U.S. Government purchased rights to the book and all subsequent
versions are known simply as Bowditch.  It is not only a notable book but is considered one of
America's nautical institutions.
